Attempted Murder of Albertville Officer
Marc Shadrick Alcime, 24, unknown residence, is in custody for allegedly shooting at an Albertville Police Officer. He will be charged with Attempted Murder of an officer.
This incident occurred on Sunday at 2a.m. The officers received a call for a possible drunk driver in the area. The officer made a traffic stop of the potential vehicle at the intersection of Rose Rd. and Lexington Ave. The individual exited the vehicle and started walking away.
Chief Jamie Smith of the Albertville Police Department said, "The officer gave him (Alcime) commands to stop, but he began to run from the officer."
As the officer turned the corner of a building, Alcime began shooting. The officer was able to dive to safety, and he was not shot.
Around 6:15a.m. a 911 call was made to the PD for a possible burglary. It appeared Alcime had jumped a 6ft tall privacy fence. As he landed on the other side of the fence he fractured his femur. A gun was found in close proximity to Alcime.
Alcime required surgery for the injury sustained from the fall.
He will likely be arraigned with bond set tomorrow.
